Several weeks ago I asked for suggestions on a new car. I have finally decided so I thought I would let all those who gave me great advice what I chose. First, a rundown on the vehicles I tested and my impression/opinion on each of them.

Hyundai Azera - Nice car. Smooth firm ride with enough zip. Construction was impressive and there was plenty of room. Great warranty. It was a little shy on "bells and whistles" for me and somewhat bland in styling.

Cadillac DTS - I may have expected too much of this very large car. The ride was a bit floaty and seemed to emphasize every rut and pothole. It was not as quiet as I had hoped for.

Toyota Avalon - Good car with a nice smooth ride and lots of room. Bit on the bland side for me.

Lexus ES350 - Loved the car but kept hearing bad things about the transmission from various sources so I deleted it from my list.

BMW 530i - Wonderful car. Lots of zip, drives like a dream with excellent road feel, sport seats were incredible. Lacked a few of the options I wanted such as cooled seats, backup camera, etc.

After deciding there is no such thing as the perfect car for me, I chose the Infiniti M35x all wheel drive (for Chicago snow). Not as smooth a ride or as sporty as the BMW but I love the Navigation and backup camera. My only reservation is that I'm not sure I should have bought a car that has an IQ 50 points higher than mine. I'm going to be a long time finding out what all this car does. I think there's one button somewhere that will have the car give me a hand job while I drive.

For everyone that sent me their suggestions, thanks. I don't think you can go wrong on any of the cars that were suggested. It's simply a matter of finding out what works best for you.:) :) :)

I drove the Infinity FX35 and was very impressed with the seats, ride, handling, and things like the AUTO Distance cruise control, fantastic Bose radio.

This was after I replaced my totaled LEXUS RX330 with the identical RX350, that has a horrible radio, but improved transmission, and suspension. Fortunately, the insurance covered most of it, since my former car was in mint condition.

Enjoy the ride as long as it lasts!

The Infinity should treat you very well. They are well made. BMW is a nice car, but you pay a premium, if you have work done at the dealership, and generally people who purchase BMW's really don't care how much they spend on parts and labour, because for many people (not all) its a status symbol.

Can't go wrong with Infinity... and all wheel drive to boot....:-)
