Is there a difference between the "The Dysfunctional Psychedelic Waltons" and the "The Psychedelic Waltons" or are they one group and I have the name wrong in one of the two choices above?

I was doing some downloading and I have "Wonderland" by the The Psychedelic Waltons (a Gaiety DJ favorite) and I have "Payback Time" by the The Dysfunctional Psychedelic Waltons. Is this in error in one group's name or are these two groups?

Hopelessly clueless,

Thank you Hoover for your kind assistance! Now, to satisfy my OCD, how should I list them in my music directory?

"The (Dysfunctional) Psychedelic Waltons"

or

"The Psychedelic Waltons (AKA The Dysfunctional Psychedelic Waltons)

My neurosis is not your problem and feel free to jump off my crazy train whenever you want. However, when it comes to file naming, archiving, etc., I make Felix Ungar look disorganized.

BTW, how did you know this info? Do you like them? I tried anet search but then I took a nap (very lazy rainy day today).

You're welcome! :)

Regarding the music directory, I would say if you're keeping a flat (not relational) database, that you should have two entries, one for "Psychedelic Waltons, The", and one for "Dysfunctional Psychedelic Waltons, The", each with a reference to the other one.

You could then list each song under whichever entry it was originally published. So, in this case, "Wonderland" would listed under "Psychedelic Waltons, The", and "Payback Time" and "All Over My Face" would be listed under "Dysfunctional Psychedelic Waltons, The". I would do the same with any electronic copies (mp3, wma, etc.) of the music.

I dont' have any of their music (though I did like one of the remixes of Wonderland I found on the web). I just pieced my information together by doing a number of Google searches.

Thanks Hoover for your many suggestions/options. I am in Heaven when all is filed correctly on my computer. I like a clean computer and a clean house!

I think that's Donna Reed in her usual houswife attire. I am showing my age...

This is the version of "Wonderland" that Brad the DJ would use often at the Gaiety. He had it on vinyl.

I often wonder where that AWESOME vinyl collection is that was housed in the Gaiety. They had some really good stuff along with a few autographed copies of some records. I enjoyed being a DJ groupie.

Thanks for that link, VDN!

The nice thing about hearing great music in a place like the G is that you can (almost) re-live that time when your favorite G dancer had his ass in your face just by replaying the music. :0

Exactly! I have 63 Gaiety songs and they do bring back memories quite nicely.
