Hi All

anyone from Daytona Beach here? considering relocating to Daytona, but after reading up online I see that Daytona rank high up on the list of dangerous places to live in Florida.

What is the true story? I know statistics can show anything...

Is Daytona bad place to live or is the stats more like instead of a 1 in 100000 chance to be robbed that is a 1 in 75000 chance....

Not so much dangerous as trashy...people come and go often....so may rentals ….along the beach is nice...if you don't mind dodging cars...Try Ponte Vedra….up the coast about 100 minutes....very nice...close to some great shopping and restaurants...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponte_Vedra_Beach,_Florida

+1 to...

"Not dangerous but trashy" ...Of course with enough money you can well almost anywhere. ;) If it's not too far, I'm rather fond of St Augustine area and Ponte Vedra, or New Smyrna and Melbourne to the south.

And FWIW...The area south of New Symrna (Mosquito Lagoon) is quite affordable and hands down probably some of the best fishing in the country...period.

It's more affordable than other part of Florida, that's all I know.

I'll just say that it's not as nice as I thought I would have been. The race track is something to behold and it's a major draw of the city, as for the actual beach....it's ok. It's noticeably worn down and there are homeless people all over the place but the further away you go the nicer it gets. If your considering a move, there are nicer places to live.
