As children, alcohol was a big fat no from mother, although I remember my dad drinking a few bottles of beer when in gatherings with extended family. Because I was a rebel ? I tried beer (San Miguel, to be exact) when I was 9 and spat that thing back out - never to try beer again until college. Alcohol was just banned within my direct family, father included, since 2000. Obviously, my brothers and I would drink since we're of age, but never in front of our parents, until 3 years ago when my little brother outed me to my parents as someone who drank. My brothers and I still feel awkward drinking in front of our parents, so much so that we just avoid the situation from happening altogether ?♂️

it will probably get me a lot hornier if I was backing my ass up grinding someone to this Mariah Carey mix:

The JoeMendoza Educational Channel | Idiomatic Expressions
+ MysticMenace replied to + MysticMenace's topic in The Lounge
here's a few to start: don't be such a wet blanket jump the shark for the birds bought the farm shoot the breeze I have actually used these terms before, but curious how these expressions were started: under the weather spill the beans / tea knock on wood take a rain check probably not an idiomatic expression, but where did the term eggcorn come from? -
I would say that 25 is a non-pedantic answer to the problem. The nit-picky answer is 27.

I had to take English as a Second Language (ESL) when I arrived in the US because well, it was decided for me. I really did not learn anything new from it, but I wished I was taught American idiomatic expressions in ESL. Idiomatic expressions may have been ingrained naturally for some of you, but was wondering if there are some expressions that you have heard of but may still be unclear about what they mean. If you happen to know the context or background for why and how certain idiomatic expressions were formed, would greatly appreciate that information too!

I am not creeped out or disturbed about this thread in particular. I was applauding @BuffaloKyle for performing his due diligence in verifying whether the content still abides by the Terms and Rules of the forum, regardless if the concern was warranted or valid. Am I serious about wanting this forum to remain available for all of us to consume? Absolutely. -

What is a Talent or Skill That You Wish You Had?
+ MysticMenace replied to + Lucky's topic in The Lounge
real / practical: being an empath being able to make any guy have their best orgasms when with me being great at solving very complex, macro-systemic issues being better than Hanyu and Nathan Chen combined in figure skating - be the first one to land a quad axel being great at gymnastics and land a quad-twisting triple layout dismount on the high-bar. being able to throw the best shades and clapbacks in any group situation imaginary: being able to redirect any thoughts or emotions from one individual to large crowds -
really good at? hmm, don't think am really good at anything. ?♂️ am like more than a beginner, kinda intermediate...maybe you can teach me your tennis ways, @marylander1940! am guessing you mean both a skill someone has to be a therapist and a drag queen at a library? width=986pxhttps://i.pinimg.com/originals/fd/24/61/fd246168dcfa2a9575663f3a40d1889d.gif[/img] oooh, how exciting!

Deposit for future meetings during current downtime

Oh I would still hire him, but he rarely visits DC now and he currently lives in NYC. I think the last time he visited DC was just for a day in January for a job interview. -

+ MysticMenace replied to + barullo's topic in Questions About Hiring
Looks like the OP got his answer on post #43. I have been the person that does not expect to see the money back once I give it to a person - family, friends, acquaintances, and providers alike. I think it takes a certain humility for someone to ask for help, and if I am blessed enough with discretionary funds, then I do not see a problem with extending the blessing when I can. I think the takeaway for me here is to actually let the recipient know that what I am giving them is a gift. In retrospect, when I gave a provider $1000 to help him with his rent for a place he's looking at in DC but ended up moving to Philly and sending him another $500 to help him with storage fees to help him move to NYC, or detail reviewing his resume, I was not expecting to see the money back. Although I wonder, because I had not told him directly that the funds he received were gifts, that he would feel pressured to make up for the money he was given. Thanks, @barullo, for posting this topic. Certainly gave me some things to think about. -
