That being the case, you indeed might want to check out one of the neighboring towns - Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage - particularly if you want some yard space. Houses in Palm Springs tend to be closer together with less property.
Thank you! I’ll have to schedule an exploratory trip once I’m able to leave my pandemic monastery.

Stay away from north and northeast Palm Springs, anything north of Vista Chino Blvd. and east of the airport (Farrell) gets really really windy. So windy you won't be able to be outdoors without literally feeling like you're being sandblasted. My friend thought he picked up a good deal with a cute house near the World Gym, then he got hit so hard by gale force winds last summer that he moved to South Palm Springs, where it's completely calm (when it blows in the north). That is why there are wind turbines just north of town.
That’s great advice. Thank you!

I bet you can smell that savory armpit even though a mask!

I don't have specifics, but I too have gone there frequently and it has crossed my mind to move there.
The Cathedral City recommendation above is good as well as other nearby cities if you like being a litle more residential. You are still close to things, but needing to drive. If you're more of a city person like me, you might want to be right in Palm Springs itself. (Not that Palm Springs is a huge city). In Palm Springs proper you will also find more emphasis on maintining the Mid-Century Modern traditions. There are some neighborhoods tucked right near the heart of everything. The Warm Sands area for example is a mix of residential with many gay guest houses. Also west of Palm Canyon - near the art museum - is a little neighborhood just a few blocks from the main drag, but few people know that anything exists west of Palm Canyon. Going east from Palm Canyon toward the airport you may find a mix of lower value places and higher value places. I am not a real estate person, so you'll want to find someone who can point you in the right direction for what you desire. Hope that gives you a few thoughts though!

Thank you! This is all very helpful. I am looking for a more residential area. I don’t mind a drive into town for culture. I do want a good sized space with yard and pool. It won’t be my primary residence but I would like to spend winters there with occasional visits throughout the year.

Make sure you buy one with a lovely Guest room, right off the pool. I am dying for a vacation.
I would like at least two guest rooms, preferably with their own baths, and pool and hot tub! I love company.

Cathedral City is cute
Thanks! I’ll check it out.

I like the way you think specially if the little guy is bigger where it matters...
I’m a very big guy, and usually a top, but when I bottom, it’s nearly always for a little dude. I really enjoy getting topped by a small guy who is usually a bottom himself.

In 35 years 8 have never had a service provider ask for payment up front. This has happened occasionally in Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

I met a cute young guy from Minnesota in SF and we spent a week together. I still have his pictures in a photo album. We corresponded for a few years. Many years later we touched base again. I also met his gay uncle in SF that summer and we became friends as well.
That’s so cool! I love it when you unexpectedly meet someone from the past like that.

I went back the next summer and the song that stuck with me was Upside Down by Diana Ross. Such memories.
For me it was Blondie, The Tide Is High.

I visited San Francisco in 1979 also! I was living in New York at the time. They were both great places to be young but legal (barely) then.

In the next six to twelve months, plague permitting, I would like to purchase a home I’m Palm Springs. I have visited a couple of times for a few days and enjoy the area, but I’m not familiar with the various neighborhoods. If anyone has advice or can refer me to resources, I’d be most grateful. Thanks!

I love Denmark! Really, though, Copenhagen is a great city.

Who was on the futon?
Oh man, that'd be hot...someone underneath giving head while the massage is happening.
A guy with excellent oral skills, with a vibrating plug up my butt.

One good thing about being as nearsighted as I am is that I just barely see enough in the mirror to shave!
