If I click on reply, I see the image. If I control click on the blue-box with the question mark and try "Open image in new window", I also so the image. If I present the address as a URL, and click on it that also works. Having opened it in a new window, when I refresh the page, the blue-box was replaced with the real pictures. When I start up Chrome on a mac, it tells me that it will not run flash after December 2020, but that's a ways off. More than one paid app I use for a recocrding business will not run on Catalina, so I'm not upgrading for a while. Maybe you could install mojave to boot off an external drive?
