Any recommendations for spas/masseurs near penn station area?

Well 27mens spa is close by on 27 & 8

Agree on the noise level, particularly if you are in one the two rooms off to the left right in the reception area. Between the door buzzing, phone ringing and the banter with customers arriving and departing, lots of distractions.

 

That said, the place still it my new favorite.

@King hunter. Thanks for letting us know. Since you’ve been to Time Square Spa previously then you know that the stamped card for 5 massages also gives you a 50% discount on a 1 hr massage. Who gave you the massage & how did he know you wrote a Yelp review? Now that you’ve told us, anyone can read Yelp & say they wrote that review. Not sure what you meant by, “They offer Yelp & Google”.

I think that was a neat idea however the last couple times there I forgot to get it stamped. Would certainly use that discrout to extend my usual massage time.

I tried out Shangrila on Friday and since I know the owner is reading this and I am sure if you check your logs you know who I am and I have a few comments to better the experience .

The spa is very well furnished an it is a relaxing atmosphere , however with the partial walls all noises outside can be heard in the rooms and this is a distraction if your trying to relax , more so if the phone is ringing and you can hear conversations from outside .

Having one take there shoes off on entrance is a plus in my books however you should supply some kind of reusable slippers , if you going to take a shower after the massage and although there are rugs there is a chance of someone falling or at least slipping .

My purpose in visiting your spa was to have strong massage which I did express to you via text and you recommend the Brazilian masseuse. He is very good looking and has a great personality however his technique was ordinary and without adequate pressure and skill . I felt I was in one of these massage movies where the money maker was the skills to a complete finish and the actual massage skills was an an afterthought . I like massages and not always to I desire a complete finish.

To finish off my observation, the Brazilian ( don’t want to butcher his name with bad spelling ), did give a relaxing massage if that is what your looking for and his personality melts you like butter Lol.

I am now convinced that the owners of these spas are reading and posting on this forum. Great marketing strategy however I will take all messages going forward with a pinch of salt.

My regular guy is not available , can anyone recommmed a good accommodating guy and spa for Friday ?

He’s younger probably early twenties , sorta Italian middle eastern looking- not the best massage- ending felt good but seemed like he didn’t want to be there

Mike said he is from Russia , he very friendly and yes I felt the same way from our conversation. I think the massage was pretty good.

Ok the massage was decent , I believe I did a 90 mins with him . A friendly guy but then coming close to the end he did The happy stufff which was ok but afterwards he mentioned that’s usually he gets a high tip . So the massage was 90 , I tipped him 80 to 90 in the room and his openly expressed his disappointment , I tipped further when I paid at the desk. That whole tipping situation and his reaction spoilt the evening .

A tip that sounds generous by percentage terms at a cheap place is not really that much in absolute terms. If you are getting treatment that would endanger their license and tipping 50% on a $60 massage, you're not doing it right.

I agreed if it’s a cheap place for like $60 then I would tip 60 to 100.

I have to say that I had a similar experience there recently. When I gave the same generous tip that I have given the past few times, it was" looked at" as if it was not enough anymore! No words were spoken, but the look said it all. I was a bit put off.....

 

I stopped going to Hey Man because there was a guy who in the middle of my massage requested a tip amount, so I was not relaxed at all during the session... I have no problem tipping well, but I do have a big problem being asked for, or told about a tip before, during or even after my session if I myself have not asked for anything extra yet.

I am kinda surprise by the responses to Adam because I didn’t get that impression .i must say however that during My last massage he left the room about four times and although he apologies , it kinda ruined the session for me . Adam gives a good massage but if that situation happens to me I would definitely stop going

I am not sure if I tip generiously , I think I do because it’s usually 50% or 100% . As I mention it’s only recently I started going to the spa.

I did have negative experience with the Egyptian at 27 men and with two guys at Super men as much so that I don’t go back . I feel that type of reaction spoils the experience .

Looking to try other places any suggestions ?

I believe that you meant Masseur and not the female version to get naked. I find that you may be able to work up to this after several visits at a spa. If they don't know you, they may be offended with such a request or it could be prohibited by management. However, with a private masseur, the likelihood is greater and you can ask upfront if they message naked and they will tell you. After all, you are the paying customer and want your expectations fulfilled. So, do your homework and find out ahead of time.

Basil is Russian , has a nice personality , knows how to massage which ends with HE. The only thing he keeps his equipment to himself , which is a turn on and a challenge . Lol

Ok , I went to 27 Men Spa , tonight but I missed my appointment with Basil , the guy at the desk suggested William ... I have to say that was the most uneventful , inexperience massage I ever had . I felt sorry for this guy and myself ,, what a waste of an hour and $$$.

He demanded for a tip? Or maybe because you asked him to do something extra ordinary? Been with him for the nth times, and since I’m a regular, I’m a lil bit generous with the tips. I think that we cannot deny the fact that his massage is legit.

What I mean for “he doesn’t demand” is that, he just do his work well and patiently waited for you to hand over your tips.

Lesson: In Life, not everything is free. Lol

Hi thanks for your response , I actually think myself a generous tipper . I usually give more than 60% of the actual massage .

Probally I was his last person but I was never approached for additional tips and yes there was extra which I factored in . Now remembering , I gave his in the room the bulk and additional on paying at the desk .

I completely agree nothing is fee . Lol .

As for his massage technique , to be fair I only did one session , I will revise after my secondary third .

I was told Ahmed from 24/7 men’s spa no longer work there. I don’t know why he left. I know he had a great network of clientele already that even myself, a regular customer for the nth time around has difficulty making an appointment and most of the time, I had to wait for an hour or 2.

Ahmed don’t pretend, he don’t assume and he doesn’t demand.

There are masseurs there that possess an almost perfect physical attributes but personality and skills is way below passing mark. They have to be reminded that they don’t sell any product, they provide service.

Ahmed is still at 27 men , for me personally his skill is ok and he does demand which is a turn off . Did a 2 hour with him last week .

Just came back from 27, had Basil , very friendly , nice firm hands .. enjoyed it totally . Last week I had Yuri , he is pretty awesome with more perks .

The Egyptian was good but don’t like the him commenting about the tip .
