He could be fired for that at some places. I know that Utopia would fire him if a client complained.

I recently googled men’s spa in Manhattan and found a new spa which had its grand opening last week I believe.
I booked a one hour session today with Rodrigo, a tall young and handsome guy from Brazil at Shangrila spa on East 44th Street. Rodrigo was excellent at what he does and super friendly. I so needed a massage after my workout. Strong hands and great technique, wow! He is going to be my “go to” guy from now on!
The spa is very upscale, very clean and just gorgeous with spacious, beautifully decorated massage rooms, not tiny cubicles that barely fit the massage table. The prices were a bit higher than some other men’s spas in this town but in my opinion worth it for the central location near Grand Central, the beautiful space and great service.

    I will DEFINITELY return!

As much as having the previous thread removed sucks, if it’s a matter of having that come down VS having this forum removed completely due to violations, I’d much rather prefer the former.

We are all supremely lucky that this place is here and we should appreciate and respect the decisions made by the moderators.

And I also agree with that previous thread was becoming littered with random posts and confusing responses - I, myself, am guilty of that too.

We have a chance to start fresh.
I say we use this opportunity to be careful what we say and share. Quote the posts we are referring to. And if you make a comment or share recommendations about anything, then we should state clearly which spa it is and which masseur we’re referring to so to avoid confusion.

Clean slate! I’m all about it. And again, rather have this than the whole forum gone!

So who has had a new experience to share?

Hi thanks for your response , I actually think myself a generous tipper . I usually give more than 60% of the actual massage .
Probally I was his last person but I was never approached for additional tips and yes there was extra which I factored in . Now remembering , I gave his in the room the bulk and additional on paying at the desk .
I completely agree nothing is fee . Lol .
As for his massage technique , to be fair I only did one session , I will revise after my secondary third .

There was an excellent masseur at Utopia last year who was fired for demanding tips from clients. I don't remember his name, but when I asked for him again, he was gone, and though management did not tell me why, another masseur did. (How else would I have known?) There is a sign in every room at Utopia that informs clients that masseurs are not allowed to ask for tips.
Customers should know that in most (probably all) spas, the masseur receives less than half the amount we pay for a massage. We should tip generously.

Went to K-Town today. They've been closed for like 6 months for renovations but I didn't see anything different except there is water fountain in the men's wet area and they re-arranged the couches on the floor with the saunas haha. It's not worth going anymore though. They no longer allow towels in the wet area. They give you one small one and one big one and you have to keep them in the cubby before you enter the wet room. What?!! This makes no sense. Why can't I at least take my small towel to sit on in the steam-room because the bench is hot or use it to wipe my sweat? So dumb. Guys were still playing in the shower and steam-room walking around with hard-ons. I'm pretty sure someone complained because I saw a hot blond guy storm out of the steam-room and out of the wet area and then 30 seconds later the worker came in and checked in on the steam-room. He kept doing every few minutes after that the rest of the time I was there. The floor with the saunas also smelled funny. Then they changed how you check out. You have to go out to reception and check out and then come back into the locker-room to get your shoes. It's so stupid. Before you could check out with the locker-room attendant. Anyway, sorry for the long post but I was expecting so much more because they were closed for so long.

What do you define as extras? HE? Because if you’re not getting a HE at Utopia, you’re doing something wrong. Like wearing your police uniform when you walk in.

No he didn’t man. You’re mixing up the guys again. Get it together. You’re thinking of Terry or Werry or Ferry! NOT Jerry.

Victor is about 6'2 and weighs about 220. (I asked him.) Yes, he's strong, and can give a deep, strong massage. Some people here have complained about that. I can't understand why; if you think he's massaging too deep, all you have to do is tell him -- once. He's very accommodating, and wants to please, as they all do. (After all, they work for tips.) Jerry and Victor, who are totally different in every way, are my two favorite masseurs at Utopia.

    Results here.

If you don't have the patience to read, in short, Utopia is the clear and away winner. Babylon gets props, 27 Men's Spa seems to be a spa on the rise.

    Enjoy.

I had Victor at utopia again yesterday and again he was great . Very consistent and he aims to please . His massage is on the heavy side but he asks in advance to adjust the pressure according to the client request .

My vote is for Ricky. Nicely toned, hot and handsome, and DEFINITELY loves what he does.

I just recently had a 60-minute session with him and I truly feel his technique, his demeanor and his friendliness are hard to beat. From the moment I entered Utopia, he was professional and very welcoming. Upon first laying face down (wondering if his friendly demeanor matched his technique), it was clear—from the moment he laid his firm hands on me—that he’s genuinely experienced and knows how to relieve tightness and muscle tension in the right places. Ricky is intuitive and his pressure was perfect, without my needing to guide him or remind him to use more/less pressure. It all felt so goooood, and he was completely accommodating.

The hour-long experience was one of those rare massage sessions where, I continued to feel his firm hands all over me long after I left. (I’ve only felt this with two other masseurs at other spas.)

While the other masseurs at Utopia are all friendly, and it’s generally a well-run place, Ricky is the one masseur who I’ll return to as I kinda feel i don’t need to go anywhere else.

He seems pretty booked on most days, so if you can score an appointment with Ricky, go for it.
