Don't beat yourself up too much @WolferWe can shake hands cause I recently had a first time massage with a masseur highly recommended on this site that I had such high expectations for and I left disappointed and unfulfilled. I promised myself that I was not going to share my experience with anyone and just keep it to myself as a one and done. We parted as friends and I didn't express what I really thought. Maybe it was me, high expectations, but a true example of YMMV and that's why I'm reluctant to recommend a masseur to another guy who may have a completely different experience than me. It's unfortunate but it does occur even when you've done your homework.

I think Shangrila's prices are reasonable and in line with other NYC men's spas. I find spas to be less than half the cost of a private mssseur. However, there is the expectation of a tip equal to the price of the massage charged by the spa if the customer leaves happy.

I'd count on them to be a good iine up. I know the owner of Shangrila and he aims to please. He's got even more competition in midtown west than on the east side, so he'll need to hire some hot studs. Jorge started out at Shangrila. I was one of his early customers. He barely spoke any English and look how quickly he went independent offering mssseur and escort services in his own nice apt in Hells Kitchen.
