That's not consistent (anywhere from ~25% - 75% inflated) with any other of my recent (during 2021) experiences in LA.

Thanks @StarGZ. I've been interested in from when he first started a profile. He's rarely in my city in West Coast but sometimes will list he'll be there for a day. After all the banter and "controversy", i have elected not to pursue solely (totally my apprehension) because of the Deposit issue in advance. Which i did tell him i would do once he was in the City and before our potential meet day. But since i've been paying attention you should ask him why he's probably changed his contact number at least 10 - 12 times. That is the tipping point of what makes me nervous.

As a client for me it depends on whether it is a 1st meeting or someone who i have history with. In all my meetings there is always a good amount of "hang out time" in the beginning regardless but if it's a first time meet (and the initial plan is a multi-hour or overnight scenario), I always will offer up at least partial payment so the escort knows I'm not a scammer/fake.

Back in Phoenix. Bouncing back and forth between LA and Phoenix.

I too am in SoCal and it does require time and patience. I have communicated with and met a wide variety of gentlemen. For me the hardest aspect is trying to appropriately determine how to interact with each unique person. Truth is that some of the "sugar babies" truly are looking for a long-term relationship, some are just using it as another site for their escorting, some really are new and don't know what to expect and are malleable, some really are offended and don't want to be viewed as an escort as they have full time jobs and just are making money on the side when convenient. Some just want to professionally network and get investors, some authentically just want to travel or need a place to live.....And the list goes on and on. So you should learn not to get too overly excited or in love with potential matches even after a few good communications, because they're not also upfront about what ultimately they really want. But i also wouldn't get too crazed trying to figure out the "right" or "wrong" approach and beating yourself up over it because what might be great for one person would be the opposite with another unfortunately. Oh and I should add big categories. Some are all over the country and world who are remote to where you are, and in some cases they're scammers just trying to get gifts and money with no intention of meeting up or fulfilling promises they make, some are genuinely appreciative of the gifts and when mutual schedules align would absolutely follow-through on the relationship and some are genuine in their intention of being great video "pen-pals" sending (or selling) you personalized real video's in a mutually beneficial and satisfactory platonic arrangement. Time, patience and perspective.
