I’ve had several favorite cashiers. But they rarely hold that job for more than a couple of months before moving on. I use self-checkout lines quite a bit but mainly because grocery stores don’t properly train sackers or baggers anymore. I go through one of the regular lines and I find my produce in the same bag as my household chemicals. I find the hot thing I picked up from the deli in the same bag as my stuff from the freezer section. I find the ten things I bought in eight different plastic bags.

I love that smile.
