I agree with everything you say except the phrase I highlighted. The Romans considered the Germanic tribes of Europe as inferior "cold weather makes them white, tall and stupid" yet they loved their blond women. Greeks also had similar feelings towards those barbarians but they weren't so attracted to Egyptians and others they saw as equal. Muslims in Spain also were attracted to Galician and Asturian women yet they considered Christians to be a civilization inferior to the Arab word. Again, great post I simply disagree with that phrase!
