I have to confess Joan Baez touched me deeply with her songs, even more than Joan Mitchell. It was partly because Joan Baez sang so often in Boston and Cambridge when I was attending Boston College from 1961-1965. The live album above was released just before the Kennedy assassination. It helped me though three days of TV coverage and sadness. I only saw JFK once in person, so I admit to not being totally overcome with grief. But, it was a terrible loss.
