If you had looked into the screenshot from him, he never got your 200 in first place as on his Venmo, it was disputed. The 194 you see refunded on your end, he did not got that back as well and was disputed. I hope he receives it otherwise, you never know, he may start a thread asking all providers to stay away from you for being a scammer. My friend, your side of the picture is not the complete picture and so my comment for why only Venmo is to blame. Like I said earlier, this conversation has assumed unnecessary proportions and all I wish for is @lionbrown to shut this down so no further harm is done.

It is great that you received your refund and I'm happy for you. What I am failing to understand is that you were eventually going to get your refund after a month when you had disputed it so why all this drama and dragging someone. I do not mind you sharing your personal experience but calling someone scammer was a bit below the belt when you knew that it was all a big Venmo misunderstanding in first place. I do not think this whole thread has made either of you look holier than thou. Now that you have got your refund and all the drama is done with, would you be willing to talk to the moderator and getting this thread closed?

Checked with him and he mentioned, he has not challenged the appeal so you are bound to get your money back. He provided a screen shot (attaching here). Asked on changing the name and he did so because he was losing business while this issue drags on. Desperation got him there as many guys who just take a cursory look at this thread choose to block him. Again, I believe the lack of communication is causing unnecessary damage both sides. The more we add to this thread the worse it will get. That is why I had requested if we can put a hold to it.

@DC Guy 92 did you got any further updates from Venmo. If you have seen any positive developments, may be we want to show some grace and take down this thread.

@DC Guy 92 Not blaming you but he is the sweetest guy I know so reached out and asked for the screen shots. With his permission, sharing them here. I still think, it is some issue with Venmo since in your screenshot it shows that he requested and got refund on 3rd whereas in his screen shot his refund back to you gets completed on 4th. I will try to see if I can get that to verify with him. That aside, I think he felt really hurt earlier how things were spiraling out so he blocked you and it is up to him if he would want to speak to you.

From what I know, he asks for a deposit for an outcall because in the past he has been ghosted when he would take an Uber so he tries to cover his expenses. Not sure, what exactly happened there with DC but I can understand why he asks for that deposit.

I have met him a few times and he has always been very sweet, friendly and has made me feel comfortable. I am willing to see him again. Hope it is all some misunderstanding and you receive your money back; sometimes these apps delay refunds.
