I think there’s something special about spaces that are specifically for one crowd—like how 신촌셔츠 in the shirt room has this unspoken rule about who the energy is meant for. I remember the first time I visited a gay strip club in Hongdae, and I was really struck by how different the vibe was compared to what I was used to. It was all about the energy of the men for the men, and I thought that was pretty unique. Now, I’ve heard some places are struggling with this “everyone’s welcome” mentality, and I can’t help but feel like it changes the experience.
