  1. I went recently, not good:

    1. The steam room was out of order (and apparently has been for months). Without the steam room, there’s just one sad and depressing little whirlpool in the men’s room

    2. I felt like the attendant was following me around the whole time with bad energy, like I was a would-be shoplifter in a store full of things he felt I couldn’t afford.

    3. Empty when I went, Saturday mid day

Since the new owners of spa castle have killed the vibe there as well, we are now at a severe spa shortage lol

Have you or any others since been back to Spa Next? Any updates? Seems like Mark is no longer there

I’ve been there, dm for details

  3. Saw him at escape a few months ago. Was strictly legit, which is odd because he clearly offers more and I’ve always been well taken care of at escape. I tip well, so not sure why.

The massage was very “slow,” like to the point where I was like did this guy not have coffee today or what. He’s good looking but wouldn’t repeat.

i’ve been to both.  the guy on 8th avenue gives a good quality, therapeutic only massage.  i’d go back to him.  no comment about the other guy

Thank you, the branding of the m4m listing (and the phone number) made me think there might be more offered there . Helpful to know it’s therapeutic only.

Curious about these, too. I’ve asked here before but no one had any answers. If you go, would be awesome if you could share how it was.

  6. I’m spending about 7% of my gross annual income and it feels like too much.

Lately I’ve been taking notes after I leave a spa and I’m finding that most of the time it’s not worth it.

Kind of want to cut it out altogether tbh but I have a stressful corporate job and along with edibles it’s the only thing that lets me decompress and unwind.

Any recommendations for legit places that have providers who go the extra mile? Feel free to dm me, not trying to blow up your secret spot lol. I’m aware of Peter at Renew but looking for other options.

+1, would love recommendations for mixed spots who have any guys who do more

Hi. Bumped into this ad on Craigslist. Has anyone heard of them?

    NEWYORK.CRAIGSLIST.ORG

Ciao Private studio. Professional males giving deep tissue and Swedish to help you rejuvenate...

They have a Twitter account I see.

    https://twitter.com/Achilles1069

Took one for the team and tried this place. Very bad. Masseur was an older Asian man, out of shape with very little English. Made me pay $55 upfront for 30 min.

After 10 min of bad massage, he takes off his shirt and starts trying to negotiate a tip (he asked for $60).  He was very out of shape. I said no and left.

Bad vibes, not attractive, massage terrible + not hot, waste of time. Save your $$

I would think this “someplace else” would alleviate BBs no? 😂

I mean yeah, I guess I have to go some place else : (

really wish I could find more mixed places with guys who are interactive

  10. Tried my hand at Renew York again, this time with Eddie. Amazing legit massage, but I left with a major case of BB because there were a lot of signals that it was potentially going someplace else.

  11. Made the mistake of going here recently, just awful.

The guy who greeted me and brought me into the room was reasonably good looking, started the massage and it was fine. Things progressed, then he went to get a hot towel. I go to turn over and it’s a different person...totally different guy.  So shady and weird. I asked for 30 min, it was over in 20 and I left covered in oil.

    Disgusting, would never go back.

He only has one apprentice right now, Michael. He's fairly decent, but not amazing. Younger and relatively fit. To be fair, I've never actually had a massage with Peter. The massage is incredibly affordable.

The location: conveniently in flushing (as someone who is NOT in Manhattan, I really appreciate the location), not in a busy area and easily accessible from public transportation. He hosts in a private apartment. The apartment is not very clean. The floors seem stained with cigarette ash all over... I didn't want to step barefoot on the floor.  The lighting is great (as opposed to the dark rooms most spas entertain) and the table is standard. The table was placed in front of a balcony/window but he closed it for privacy

The massage: as mentioned above, fairly decent. It wasn't the worst, it wasn't the best. Michael doesn't speak much English, but makes an effort to use google translate and check in every once in a while. He started with the towel/blanket to perform the acupressure part they all do in the beginning - but it got hot really quick since the window/door was closed. Overall, he spent a good amount of time, maybe too much on the neck and back while I would have preferred more hips, legs and front side.

The extras: pretty standard, definitely would have liked some more engagement, but it got the job down.

    Grade: 6.8/10

How much total if you don’t mind my asking?

  13. I think I made a mistake. I went to Renew Body Spa in Chelsea and asked for Peter and they said he did work there, but I think it was a different Peter. Good massage but left me wanting more for sure.
