kylejeffreyphx reacted to + Mplsgymguy in Brady in Phoenix
On two separate visits to the Phoenix area, I decided to contact Brady - in spite of some of the negative comments about him on this site. Introduced myself, told him what sort of massage I was looking for, gave him a couple of dates/times. I understand that masseurs “have a life” and may not get back to you right away. However, it was several days before I heard back from him (had already left AZ to return home) the first time, and I wrote to let him know. The second time I attempted contact, I never heard back from him at all. That was enough to cross him off my list.

Haven't wanted to comment given how it went before but after private inquiries...
Same here over time was my experience. Found all around better providers. Have to temper my comments from back then.
To say having seen Brady so often in same breath as nothing but great experiences gotta think something besides luck to be involved. Personally I'd never be friends with someone so inconsiderate.
Such conflicting experiences caveat emptor no one should be surprised. But agree there's a limit and hotness just above avg doesn't compensate nearly enough.

^Considering all the so-so and bad masseurs out there, I don’t mind paying a premium for a high quality experience. I’m glad to hear your time with Brady is worthwhile. Thanks for posting.
^I’m sorry to hear about this. It wasn’t me. I gave him a window of literally six days, and any time on those days to choose from. I was the least fussy, and most accommodating client possible in that regard. And no, I showed up 5 mins early exactly where he instructed.
I truly sympathize with Brady because clients no-show on me, especially when I travel. It’s so frustrating regarding the lack of income but also the inability to make or proceed with alternate plans. This is undoubtedly why he requires deposits. I too get clients being demanding about getting exactly the time they want, rearranging my life to accommodate them, and the client making a big deal about it…and then that client no-shows. I truly get it. Those are really horrible clients.
In private messages, others have confirmed that Brady has skipped out on many appointments with them - even regular clients! You have to keep booking multiple appointments in the hopes that one of them eventually materializes. Hot tip from you all: book with less notice, like maybe the day before, to minimize your risk of him no-showing. What a bummer having to clear so many hours in your schedule only to be disappointed time and time again.
Some of you told me that Brady makes fan site content. If anyone has a link to his fan page, please reference it here.
And yet, you keep booking. This is what still puzzles me. While some of you mention here and in PMs YMMV “extras”, I can’t imagine what he could possibly do with his body - therapeutically or otherwise - to make someone waste so many hours of their life dealing with no-shows. It truly boggles my mind. Guys in the deli section don’t get that much patience from their clients. When someone ghosts or no shows, clients move on. And that’s for guys in prime condition meeting all the most stringent client criteria for looks, personality, fame/following, and sexual offerings. I don’t understand why clients are extending many times more patience for Brady. Sure, maybe it’s an excellent deep massage, but I can’t imagine anyone justifying the hoops they have to jump through to get it.
I’m only making assumptions, but fan site content creators spend many hours a week on their work. It’s not just the time on screen. It’s promoting, it’s planning, traveling, and dealing with other young, flaky collaborators and turning on a dime to accommodate everyone’s shifting schedules (including his own).
Fan site content creation is a full time job, and quite unpredictable. No wonder he is changing last minute all the time. It’s just unfortunate he doesn’t embody the professionalism to communicate when things pop up. Sure, it may be annoying that he cancels on you half the time or more, but at least a decent masseur will communicate a cancellation (even last minute!) rather than making you lose half your day driving somewhere and being stood up in 105+ degree desert heat.
Others say he easily gets overwhelmed. I feel for the guy. Whatever personal problems he is experiencing though, that doesn’t excuse his lack of professionalism.
I won’t be trying Brady again for a few reasons:
1) I’m only in the Phoenix metro a couple times a year. I have to book ahead because clients tend to start filling my calendar in the days prior to arrival. That leaves odd times available, perhaps not a large enough block of time to travel from wherever I am in the metro to see Brady, have a two hour appointment, and get back in time to prep for my next client…that’s basically half a day wasted!
2) I’m there for work. Any time wasted on flaky masseurs is time I am not earning enough money to justify the trip in the first place. Having to book multiple “backup” masseurs compounds this problem.
3) I do not trust or respect people that operate the way Brady does. His behavior is unacceptable; it’s utterly disrespectful, and rude. We should not be rewarding people like Brady with our business. Period. No reasonable client should be expected to book multiple times on short notice in the hopes that eventually Brady may deign to follow through. That’s crazy!
I feel for the guy because I am assuming he just has some personal issues keeping him from behaving professionally, but still, that’s not ok. If he’s making big money doing fan site content, good for him. Then maybe he should stick to that.
For the rest of you willing to be put through the run-around over and over again…more power to you. If I were retired, living in the Phoenix metro and had nothing better to do, I could put up with this. That’s just not me though.

I'm a little surprised by some of the comments in this thread. And I feel terrible that you had this experience with him. I must have been one of the lucky ones because I've had nothing but GREAT experiences with him. As a matter of fact, we've gotten to be pretty good friends because as a client, I've been to see him so often.
The massage is outstanding. Probably one of the better and more skilled massages that I've ever had. He's a great guy and an absolute specimen of a man.
The rates are a little higher than some of the other local masseurs, but I can probably guarantee that the experience will be better than every other provider.
As a matter of fact, there is a response to this post about him posting that he's working in Burbank....and why would you do that and not take appointments. We've gotten to be good enough friends that he's staying at my house (in Burbank) and taking clients....but here and outcalls. He has responded to all and waits for confirmations. I can confirm that he has not stood anyone up (can't say the same about clients who book and don't show).
So while I'm super bummed out that you had that experience, I have never known Brady to be anything but great. Sorry to hear about your experience

well it's very sad to see this happened. I would definitely be pissed too. However, I just wanna share my experience with him to provide more data points. I asked several members here about him and the reviews were pretty polarized. For that I did not pull trigger until I saw he had a promotion and I took it. It was easy to schedule(several texts exchange) but the response was kind of slow. The massage was really good(indeed deep tissue) along with some chats about fitness/ travel/ life in general. I don't wanna share more details because my experience is different from what other members told me. Not sure if that was common or not. All i can say is that he is a great guy and generous. I say this not only from the first one experience I actually had several massages with him after that.

^Knowing this from others’ comments, I scheduled WEEKS in advance to make sure I can follow up as many times as necessary to get an appointment scheduled on his books. I was prepared for slow and inconsistent communication knowing it would probably be worth the extra effort and patience. Many of you know I am generally a pretty patient guy anyway. While not great, communication with Brady actually wasn’t as bad as others say. Scheduling wasn’t my issue though. My issue is he stood me up.
I’m not that guy who asks for a massage on very short notice like in 1-2 hours. I’m intentional. I plan. Especially in this case when I knew I would only be in the masseur’s area for a week.
^It sounds to me like his skills and him as a person are worthwhile when you actually get to see him. That’s why I went out of my way to try him, on his own terms, by being:
1) Prepared to pay more than I would normally be willing to pay for a massage
2) Really flexible with scheduling
3) Proactive
4) Not pushy
5) Mindful of scheduling a long session to make it worth his time (and mine!)
The only thing I didn’t do on his terms was pay a deposit, but he agreed to waive it. Maybe he saw me as a less reliable client because of that, but if he didn’t want to see me because of the deposit issue, he could have just said no. I don’t get it.
^While the fun aspect is intriguing, I had no expectations that any extras would be part of my session. I really just wanted to try his therapeutic work. I know so many clients are pushy or creepy about ‘extras’. Being a masseur myself, I witness it every day, so when I get a massage myself, I show as much respect as I possibly can. That was my goal here when I contacted Brady.
^ @PaulM, by this are you referring to the effort of communication in scheduling an appointment? Has he ever stood you up? How many times are you willing to be stood up before you feel he’s not worth the effort anymore?
Has Brady stood anyone else here up? I get that communication with him can be patchy and frustrating, but I knew that going in and braced myself for it. How many of you has he confirmed an appointment with and just not showed up? That’s my issue here. Is this behavior acceptable to you? Would you still see him again if he stood you up one or more times?
Brady can walk on water once you’re in the room together, and maybe he does, but is that worth coming back multiple times, being stood up again and again, and scammed out of deposit money before you can see him? That’s a big ask. Clients here are way more critical about way more petty things. I’m just wondering what is so amazing that so many of you are willing to put up with so much unprofessionalism.

I have had many great experiences with him too and have also experienced the frustration others have noted. All in all, I've found he's worth the effort and I've been luckily rewarded with some awesome massages and an occasional hot time. He's definitely a YMMV dude.....

Since he clearly doesn’t need the business, a few dozen people viewing this won’t make a difference, but it will save some clients some time and hassle.

So weird. Yes, this was today. I thought by posting I would see if this is a fluke or an ongoing problem. Sounds like I’m not alone.
I could never stay in business operating this way. More power to him if he can. I think others should know what they’re getting into, that he can’t be relied upon to fulfill his commitments, or at the very least, cancel them. I would have been fine with a message saying he couldn’t make it. Or even a message after the fact saying he was hung over and slept in or whatever, but crickets. Barring some extreme circumstance, he clearly doesn’t care about his clients. Worse yet, I would have been scammed had I sent a deposit. I think others should be on watch for scam potential, and that potential is high in this case.

I would agree...beyond the untrained massage skills...there was a sour smell to him, the linens and the room in general. Was very hard to relax. Lots of great LMTs in Phoenix...I would skip this one.

Correct, and if you have less than an 8 inch and have the gaul to hire him, he'll charge you 300$ extra to cover hours of therapy he'll need to overcome a trauma that will probably scar him for life
