Another year hence: pap smear is negative, HPV test negative At this point....I feel like I'm good! Phew! If you have HPV here is the regimen I followed strictly for one year: AHCC 1.5 G daily (mushroom extract) KPax vitamin supplement daily (KPax was developed during the AIDS crisis as an immune-boosting vitamin cocktail) Probiotic capsule daily The point of the regimen is to boost your natural immune system to clear the virus. I also did the full regimen of HPV vaccines simultaneously (3 shots?) Get your HPV vaccine!

1 year later..... So, my most recent anascopy.....showed no irregularities in my anus. And, my pap smear came back clear. My provider (PA) ordered a lab test to see if I had one of the top 3 strains of HPV....also came back negative! I am optimistically hoping that I have cleared the virus. I will need to have annual pap smears to confirm. For others who may be in the same situation, here is the regimen I followed for 1 year (religiously): AHCC 3 grams daily Probiotic capsule, daily KPax multivitamin, daily All 3 of these are immune boosters, they do not attack the virus directly the idea here is to boost your normal immune system enough that it will attack and clear the virus. This is an expensive regimen, probably $100-150 per month. Important to manage your sleep, alcohol consumption and other aspects of taking care of your body. During the 2nd 6 months of this regimen....I also did the 3-shot regimen for HPV (Gardasil) hoping it would trigger my immune response to the virus (note this is not a sanctioned use of the vaccine, my MD agreed to do this "off label"). I am no longer ruminating daily about getting anal cancer, or worried about passing it on to others. Happy New Year! PS I should note, my first negative pap smear happened in 2017. 1/17: anal pap: ASCUS, HR HPV negative 6/18: HRA no acetic acid enhancement, benign exam. anal pap: LSIL 10/19 - HRA (AM): wart detected 11/20 - HRA (JT): Wart ablated and removed. Cyt = ASCUS 5/21 - HRA (JT): no warts or Cytology = LSIL 5/22 - HRA (JT): Mild AWE throughout TZ. Cytology = ASCUS 8/22 - HRA (JT): Ablation of HSIL lesion at RA 4/23 - HRA (JT): No AWE, No dysplasia identified. Cytology = No malignant cells identified. Did AHCC regimen Jan 2021-Dec 2021, HPV Vaccine 3/21, 5/21 & 9/21

    HPV

Update FWIW. My provider finally had me tested for the most "problematic" strains of the HPV virus (those that are known to lead to cancer). I am negative for all of them. Interesting because I am having cellular anal dysplasia. So, the test results are good news.....still uncertain what it all means. Get your HPV Vaccine!

    HPV

There is some clinical research going on in this area, and I hope finding a treatment can be accelerated by CRISPR technology. There is a mushroom extract called AHCC which has some success (clinically proven in research studies) in clearing the virus, not directly attacking the virus rather by boosting your immune system to clear the virus. I took AHCC religiously for 1 year (and other immune-boosting supplements), and simultaneously got the HPV vaccination to see if combined they would bolster my own immune system to clear the virus. Since there is no test for the HPV virus, not clear if it worked or not but there has been no improvement or change in my cell structures (not sure that is even a "thing"). Have not had to go the freeze/burn route yet but have to be tested (scoped) every 6-12 months.

    HPV

Hello gents, I'm posting under an alternative ID for confidentiality purposes. I was diagnosed a few years ago with HPV....the driver of the diagnosis was anal dysplasia (changing of cells in the rectum). Nothing cancerous, but I am worried about the future. I would be interested to PM with others who may be in the same position to understand their situation and experience. To the rest of of my fellow members: PLEASE get your HPV vaccine. The age guidelines (I think) are less about the effectiveness of the vaccine at various ages, rather insurance company restrictions to pay since they assume if you are sexually active by a certain age (40?) you are already exposed. Talk to your Dr, and get the vaccine....even if you have to self-pay. Some protection is better than none. Sadly, the evidence support and reimbursement for HPV vaccinations for MSM (Men who have sex with Men) were not there when the vaccines first arrived....they became more common for MSM years later, the initial focus was women and cervical cancer. Please no negative posts, this is difficult enough thank you 🤐
