During a surprise Christmas Eve trip to Iraq, the defense secretary contradicted the official story concerning the crash of UA Flight 93. However, the way he referenced the plane being shot down made it appear that it wasn't done by US Military (unless he labels us as terrorists).

According to the article, "Several residents in and around Shanksville, Pa., describing the crash as they saw it, claim to have seen a second plane – an unmarked military-style jet."

I don't recall the our military having unmarked attack jets. This, combined with Rumsfeld's remarks, makes me wonder WHO was in the jet and where did it come from.

So was Rumsfeld remark an innocent mis-statement of what happened or is there credible evidence that the plane was shot down?

Some Speculation

For you conspiracy theorist, here is a more complete and reputable piece: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/allnews/page.cfm?objectid=12192317&method=full&siteid=50143

Clearly, if true, this is something the government would want to deny, such as whether or not FDR knew in advance about Pearl Harbor. On the otherhand, it is unlikely that the public at large will ever know "the truth" and this can become a Lyndon Johnson/CIA/Kremlin, et al., killed J.F.K. story.
