great, now he finds an issue after 20 years in the senate. he'll have to push hillary aside on this one as this is one of her big areas where she specializes. part of kerry's problem was that he did not develop an area of interest and do legislation on it. other senators are identified with their areas of expertise.

as for child health care, much depends on parent education. right now, any child can get free immunization shots but parents for one reason or another do not take advantage of them and only get the shots when they enroll the child in school and the schools require it. the same goes for proper diet, safe activities, etc. i see horrible parents neglicting their children as a major reason for lack of child health care and all the spending in the world will not help here. it would be interesting to see the stats on this as to the percentage that do not have health care because of cost and the percentage because of bad parenting skills.

You are right. Kerry's do-nothing record in Congress and his lack of executive or administrative experience made it impossible for him to convince voters that he could "do it better".

Kerry was the heir by his assumed "right"-- he felt he had paid his dues to the political machine and now it was time to collect his patrician spoils. He is finished in politics (except for stumping in bean town) and the torch has been passed to Hilary!!}(

Peace,

Kipp
