Didn't Gonzales think that the Geneva Convention was 'quaint'?

Here's another quaint idea:

"I believe in an America where the separation of church and state is absolute; where no Catholic prelate would tell the President -- should he be Catholic -- how to act, and no Protestant minister would tell his parishioners for whom to vote; where no church or church school is granted any public funds or political preference ... where no public official either requests or accept instructions on public policy from the Pope or ... any other ecclesiastical source; where no religious body seeks to impose its will directly or indirectly upon the general populace or the public acts of its officials."

John F. Kennedy, Sept. 12, 1960

Are you serious? You still find anything "unbelievable" in the policies, actions and decisions of GWB? :(

BTW: why isn't this asshole, and the assholes in the Executive Branch, the ones being sentenced to prison, rather than the low-level field soldiers, who were just obeying orders? It really pisses me off royally, to see the Abu Grhaib guards, all lowly ranking enlisted men and women being sentenced to prison for obeying orders, while the REAL criminals continue to sip bourbon in the Rose Garden! x(

Patience. Their day will come, especially when they're out of office. Even if they're not tried in the U.S., they're going to find their lives affected. Like some other high U.S. officials (Henry the K comes to mind) they'll find that they can't shop on Savile Row, dine out in Paris, romp on the Riviera or take the sun in Spain for fear of being arrested as international war criminals. :D Oh happy day, calloo-callay, he chortled in his joy. . .
