Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.

What will Moosie think?

"PAGELS: Hi my name is Ernest J. Pagels Jr., I’m a born again Christian, a U.S. veteran and a very conservative Republican. I’m running for U.S. Senate from the state of Wisconsin and if elected I will initiate a bill to outlaw homosexuality, abortion, and all forms of pornography. I think these are three ills that are plaguing our nation and bringing it down. And if elected, I will also initiate a bill for a Constitutional amendment which prohibits Congress and the President from spending more money than they bring in. My name is Ernest J. Pagels, Jr. and I hope you vote for me on September 14."

The front runner for the Republican nomination to run against Democratic incumbent Russ Feingold is Ron Johnson, a plastics manufacturer from Oshakosh. His nearest competitor is also a businessman, David Westlake. Johnson has been endorsed by the party and is running fairly well in the polls against Feingold. Pagels is a sideshow. Wisconsin Republicans are not as weirdly motivated as South Carolina Democrats.

The biggest gift of Harry Reid's political career is running against Sharron Angle.

Among other things, in her first interview outside the conservative media bubble she opined that separation of church and state is unconstitutional. (Jefferson was misquoted.) She has at various times called for reinstating Prohibition, eliminating social security and the DOE, and other nutter tea party talking points. The woman she defeated in the primaries wanted people to pay for healthcare with chickens.

In CA, Meg Whitman has spent more than $100mil out of her own pocket campaigning for governorship so far and is still running exactly dead even with Jerry Brown. Yeah, THAT Jerry Brown.

And then there's Rand "I didn't mean that" Paul.

This election season is shaping up to be one for the record books in entertainment value alone. :D

And here is more on the mystery Democrat from Manning, SC:

And he has a website:

The weird thing is, I think Jim DeMint, the incumbent, had better get home and start being seen, especially in the little towns and in the black communities. There is something strange about Greene. You never know.

Marilyn Davenport, an elected member of the Orange County Republican Party central committee, said she doesn't think a photoshopped image she sent of President Barack Obama's superimposed on a chimpanzee's body is racist.

She sent the emailed the picture of Obama and two chimp parents to friends Friday, with the caption, "Now you know why — No birth certificate."

Remember how often Bush was called "chimp" on this forum and elsewhere? Why was that not racist while depicting BO as a chimp is??

No, glutes. As your photos demonstrate, it was a reference to Bush's appearance. Why should BO be immune from this kind of attack?

With Bush it was more of a intellect issue, not racial...

Excuse me, but is your prejudice showing? Are your really saying that Obama (a man who is half-African and half-Caucasian) is compared to a Chimp because he appears to be a Black Man? While Bush is compared to a Chimp because of his supposed lack of intelligence? Holy Crap, Glutes, you're prejudiced...
