Reagan Legacy: Stem Cell Research?

Actually, Reagan is not pushing stem cell research one way or another. While people always like to speculate that a deceased politician would or would not have supported XYZ position in the present, the likely reality is that Reagan would not have supported stem cell research while he was president for the same reasons that most anti-choice, anti-abortion supporters are against it: many, if not all stem cells, come from aborted fetuses (sp?).


Nancy Reagan is actually the person who should receive the credit, if the stem cell research proceeds in spite of opposition from Bush and his administration. It is interesting to note that apparently she is not speaking at Bush's coronation in New York in September.
